I haven't moved into the new house yet, one more week to wait for that moment, but in the meantime, I moved to blogger. Mostly because I did this "bling your blog" class at ScrapinStyleTV which learned me how to make a nicer blog in either blogger (free) or typepad (paying). So I chose Blogger :-)  and I am (desperately) trying to make a goodlooking fun blog. Visit me there (pleeeaaasse!): http://linnao.blogspot.com ! Hope to see you there soon!

It feels good to be scrapping again, even though I don't have a dedicated scrap area yet, and most of my stuff is in boxes far away from here! I did two:

Featuring Naomi and Alban in the forest of the Monkeys in Rocamadour last summer.  The layout was made for a challenge on Classyscrappers ,based on a sketch, and made from papers in the Classypak from that same site. I *believe* it is from Prima. Also used American Craft Thickers and crackle Paint from Ranger. And a little bit of Stickles.

This one was inspired by an article on Kawaii in Histoires de Pages, a magazine I quite like. The papers are Sassafras Lass, I also used stickles and Prima flowers. The picture shows Naomi doing a happy dance when she was waiting for her friends to arrive for her birthday party, last July.  I made this one for a class I subscribed to! Yep, I decided to take an online class from SisTV, I hope it's gonna be good! You *might* see positive results of it in my future layouts, the class is called "Before and After, 10 Days to Dramatically Improve Your Scrapbooking" by "big SISter" Jeanette Herdman, so we're hoping that it will show ;-)

Only 3 weeks to go before we can move into our house!! I'm impatient!!! Counting the days :-)
Thanks for stopping by!!

I can't believe Autumn starts today, officially, or maybe I don't want to... I love summer and am sad it is over now. ALTHOUGH I have to admit that this time a year, I do look forward to the winter wardrobe, must be a girl thing! For me this year, autumn means moving into our new home! Very much looking forward to that!! so is Alban, he asks me at least 3 times a day if it is still long till we go to the new house. I finally figured out that is mostly because Buzz l'Eclair is in a box, waiting to be moved to the new house and therefore totally unavailable for the time being! Poor kid.
So it's autumn today, but the weather here is beautiful. Chilly in the morning, I have to accord that, but sunny and warm in the afternoon, I love it! Only too bad that the swimming pool is quite cold and besides that too green to swim in. Needs cleaning, might give it a try later today!
I scrapped a picture of Alban and his tonton this weekend, picture was taken in that same swimming pool when it was blue, last July. The picture itself is quite bad quality, but the moment was happy so I scrapped it anyway! Thanks for looking!

Craft paper (Toga), PP: Cosmo Cricket, and unknown (by me), button brand-less, sticker Sassafrass Lass, stamps Autumn Leaves, staples EK Success.

Well, I finally did some scrapping, hadn't been able to since June!! The layout I did is not very exceptional, the picture I took of it is simply BAD :-) but I'll show it anyway! It is a layout about Alban and Naomi and the happy look on their faces when we were in Rocamadour, in the "foret des singes", where the monkeys walk around in freedom! Picture taken last July:

Thanks for looking, and please leave a comment if you stop by! (not about the bad quality of the picture, please!) Have a good day!

No school, beautiful weather, a perfect opportunity to "go do something", so we decided to go to the playground and the swimmingpool in a nearby leisure area (Domaine de surgié). Just some pictures:

We had a great afternoon! I'll show some scrap soon, because I have started a little :-)

So here we are, all in Figeac, the move went OK, both for the family and the cat! :-) We didn't have much of a rest since we're here, because school started yesterday! so I brought the kids to their new schools yesterday morning and it all seems perfect, they had a great day and already start talking about friends! OK, they forgot the names of the friends, but that's a minor detail ;-) Some pictures!

Naomi all ready to go to school, with the Cartable (back pack) all packed! Impatient to meet the new teacher and new friends! A big year starts for her, she'll learn to read and write! How exciting :-)

Alban in the kitchen with Tonton Walter, also ready to go to school!

And finally Scooby who seems comfortable in her new garden! I think she doesn't realise yet that she has 8 (!) cat-neighbours!!

Well, that's all the news for now, I'm about to head off to a job interview in an hour or so :-O Wish me luck!

PS I HOPE to show you some scrap soooooooon!

Very original, all this cardboard furniture! We're starting to be REALLY fed up with packing boxes, I never realised we had so much stuff!! And not done yet :-(
some pictures of the GREAT deco in our house at this moment:

Naomi's room, which used to be nice and cozy :-O

Naomi playing with the Vtech game computer in Albans room, one of the few toys that is not yet in a box!

And our bedroom!

Only 3 more days to go at work, it is actually quite nice at this moment because I am spending the days with my replacement, explaining everything, and she is really nice. I'm looking forward to next week though ;-)

Once we're at destination, where we will say for about 6 weeks, until our new house is available, I'll finally be able to relax, because this whole moving and packing boxes business is quite stressfull. And, very nice too, over there I'll be able to scrap! Finally! I packed two bags and for some 2 months I'll have to do with that! That's going to be difficult, but fun too! Although I have a confession to make, I'm about to buy this:

It looks like such a wonderful project to do! I still have to find some sort of "theme" for mine, although that could simply be "our family" which would be quite large :-) Looks like a great occupation!! If I indeed go ahead and buy it, I will of course show you the progress on this blog!

That's about it for today, thanks for stopping by and for leaving a comment!

Boxes everywhere in the house, and stangely enough even though half our stuff is in boxes, our house seems messier than ever! :-) There's still quite a lot to pack (no panic, we still have 2 and a half week, and only started packing 5 days ago!). At the same time, we try to PURGE as much as possible, because we simply have TOO much stuff and even though our new house is bigger than our current one, we'd like to avoid HAVING to move bigger again in a couple of years! I love throwing away all useless (or ugly) stuff, it feels good!! Some pictures made today:

While packing boxes, we're planning our new house, who gets which rooms, what will be where? That is fun to do, I love it anyway! Richard and I will share an "office" room, which basically means that one side will be stuffed with computer stuff and the other side with scrap things! Although basically Richards new office should of course be the kitchen :-D I have already drawn a sketch of my side of the room and went to Ikea yesterday to buy some smaller things in order to get my dream scrapcorner! I bought these cute "table legs" with storage in it:

My little helper (Alban) has helped me measure in the store and my paper boxes can be put in the table legs, isn't that optimum use of space? ;-) I'll of course need a table top, but we hope to be able to order that one from a friend, which hopefully means nice price! We want one from glass...

About Scooby. Apparently, she doesn't quite get it that something is happening yet, she doesn't show any strange behaviour. Well, maybe she couldn't care less, as long as she gets dinner (and breakfast and lunch and if possible "gouter" and brunch too!!), but I'm already afraid of the drive there with an agonizing cat in the back of my car! And talking about the drive there... I'll have to drive 600 km :-O and I actually never did more than 120 km in one day!! I have asked Berengere to come with me (she wanted to spend the weekend we'll move in Figeac anyway!), I'll defenately feel better with someone to take over if I can't go any further!! I just hope she can stand my singing in the car, I have recently discovered that I ALWAYS sing when I drive! :-O I'll actually try to drive it all myself, I'll have to do it one day! People might find me strange when they read this... well, maybe I am ;-)

Well, that is about it, still no scrap to show! Most of the stuff is in... boxes, but I did keep some of it out of the box in order to take it with me to our temporary address in September, so that I can scrap some there. I might actually undo these bags tonight for a little session ;-) Thanks for looking and thanks for comments!

Probably too much news for one post, don't even know where to start!! OK, first things first!

Before leaving on holidays, we had a birthday party for Alban who is turning 4 in the end of August, but as we'll be moving we decided to invite his little friends a bit early! We had a great afternoon, it was so much fun to see Alban interact with his friends from school, we never get to see that really! A couple of pictures:

THE NEXT DAY, WE LEFT TO FIGEAC FOR A 3,5 WEEK (WELL DESERVED OF COURSE) HOLIDAY.
The first week we were there, we shared the house with no less than 15 persons, which was quite hectic but good fun too. We basically did the usual things we do when we're over there, eat and drink, swim in the pool and that is about it :) But we also visited the "foret des singes" (forest of the monkeys) which is a great walk in a nice forest where the monkeys walk around in liberty. At the entrance they give you a handfull of popcorn and the adverture can start. I took loads and loads of pictures, I'll just show two:

A mother with her baby who is drinking, soooo incredibly cute! I was actually quite far away from the scene, you weren't supposed to disturb feeding mothers.

I love this picture because of the expression on Naomi's face!

We also spent some time searching for a HOME, we have visited 7 or 8 houses and decided that one of these was the one we want!!! It is a relatively new house (1990), only a couple of kilometers from Figeac in a small village, large enough to house our family and all our stuff which a very nice garden. Here it is:

I forgot to mention on my blog that the we actually didn't buy the house I showed in an earlier post, so we had to look for another one! We are very excited to move to this house, but will have to wait till October! In the mean time in September and beginning of October we'll be staying in Figeac in the same house we stayed in for our holidays, let's hope we'll be able to enjoy the swimming pool!!!

The end of the holidays were just relaxing around the pool, love it!

We came back home last Friday, I started work today (only one month to go!) and we received all the boxes for the move, packing can begin! We did 10 boxes so far :-D

Well, with all that going on, I don't have any time to scrap, so nothing to show you! Have a good evening all, and hope to show you some layouts soon!

Dimanche 6 juillet 2008

It's July, summer vacation has started and summer vacation at our home means birthdays! Yep, both kids celebrate their birthday in July/August which is not necessarily very practical for the parties :-) Therefore, even though the real day is only on the 30th, Naomi celebrated her birthday yesterday for her friends, before they (and we) leave on holidays!
OF COURSE it has been raining all morning, whereas I had planned to just put all children outside :-O But we were in luck, by the time the first friend arrived, early because he was to have lunch with us, the rain stopped and the sun made its appearance! Ouf! Lunch went well, Naomi and her friend ate everything without protest and then the waiting for the other friends started... They arrived with their presents and the party began. Some pictures below:

Smile Naomi!!!

Presents!

The cake :-)

La chaise musicale!

Just a couple of images! Now we can start preparing for Albans party, next Wednesday :-)

On Thursday we will, finally!!, leave on holidays, I can't wait! Looking very much forward to doing nothing but diving in the swimming pool whenever I feel like it (or whenever the kids feel like it, which is even more often!). BUT, we'll also go house hunting, we signed for selling our house this week and it would be nice to have another house lined up ;-)

With the kids being on holidays and me spending all my time on Internet looking for houses, and the job that needs attention too, I hardly have any time to scrap, so nothing to show! I hope to show some layouts soon, but with the holidays coming up, that is not very likely...

Enjoy YOUR holidays, thanks for stopping by!
