Christmas was fun, New Years eve was at least as much fun, Ready to attack 2008! Happy New Year to all!

For tonight I'll just show you a couple of layouts I haven't published here yet, but one of my resolutions for 2008 is to blog more and better, so stay tuned, see you soon! I might actually WRITE something here ;-)

coup--106-copie-1.jpg  Naomi and Alban and their "long teeth"

coup--108.jpg  Alban who is impatiently waiting for Santa (and when Santa finally came, he was soooo spoiled!!)

coup--109.jpg Alban who is playing soccer with Naomi watching him.

coup--110.jpg  Naomi. For this one I used paint on bubble wrap, stamps and crackle paint, quite experimental for me!!!

These were made in 2007. In my next post I'll show my 2008 creations! Good night!

The house has been decorated inside (tree!) and outside, we are ready for Santa! Naomi and Alban talk about hime all the time, with every commercial they see on television they say "that's on my list!" or "I want that!", they like looking at the christmas decorations in our street and they start rehearsing the songs! We ourselves are doing the final shopping, Santa can't do everything all by himself!!

Last week I bought myself a new camera, a Panasonic "bridge" camera. Now all I need to do is figure out how it works :-) I already took some nice pictures with it, but they weren't all perfect and I want perfect pictures, so I need to study the manual! In these
last few days before Christmas, I really NEED to tackle this manual, so that my christmas pictures will be PERFECT, colorful and read-to-be-scrapped-in-a-minialbum! :-)

Yesterday we went to the park, it was quite cold but it was quite nice anyway! We played "soccer" and took a walk, we had a nice and easy weekend at home! Which basically means "playing school", Naomi is completely addicted to playing school and I have to be the teacher!

One more full week at work, well, not really full as I only work 3 days a week, but last week at work, then next Monday and after that, I have a whole week HOLIDAYS! Very much looking forward to that :-)

And of course I also have some layouts to show, I have done quite some scrapping and am way behind in showing you, so keep on looking, there are five!

coup--99-copie-5.jpg  A page about Alban and his little friend Inès during our holidays in Figeac. This page was made at my scrap class some weeks ago. sorry for the flash in the picture!

Another page made at my scrap class. I don't really like this one but I did enjoy making the layout! Naomi blowing her 5 candles last July!

coup--101.jpg  A layout made for the product challenge at Classyscrappers.  Papers and embellishments were chosen to go with the socks! :-)

coup--102.jpg  Another layout for the Classyscrapper product challenge, we had to include a song (either title or lyrics), patterned paperS and number stickers. The journaling is about how 2007 is the year of lightning McQueen, and how we seem to be looking for McQueen ALL THE TIME, because even while he has 4 of these little cars, he never seems to find them!!

coup--105.jpg  And finally another layout for the product challenge AGAIN (we have a new challenge every week!), we had to use rik rak ribbon, a touch of green and pictures taken at different "events". This layout is about how it is time for Alban to abandon the dummy!

More to follow soon, because I really feel like scrapping! :-)
Thanks for reading/looking! Have a nice week!

I don’t blog enough… I intended to blog more often and about more different subjects but all I seem to do is show layouts on it ! Let’s change that… my very early new years’ resolution! So what happened since I last blogged…

I turned 35! Holy cow, that sounds old written down like that! I was spoiled for the occasion, love it! Richard offered me the Craft Robo, a wonderful cutting machine that I will mostly use for scrapping but that I can also use to create cards and maybe even other things! It took me almost 2 weeks to understand the beast, but I managed to cut with it! I’ll show you below. I also got storage boxes for my scrap, a ribbon jar, a book and a charm bracelet, spoiled me J

We have also celebrated the Dutch national party of St Nicholas, which is to be compared with Santa in the world (père noel!), the party involves mostly (only) presents and chocolate! Apart from that it is the perfect occasion to spend an evening with the family, in Holland, that I don’t see often enough. It was good fun.

Some drama yesterday… first I arrived way too early at the child “after school” care, Naomi was NOT happy that I arrived in the middle of a game they were playing. I was actually quite happy myself to leave work early, but from now on I’ll have to do over time, to keep the little miss happy J But the drama was after that, she told me that she has received an invitation for a birthday (nice!) but she forgot the card at school. Tears were flowing… I think she was afraid that she missed the party, but I somehow don’t think the party was last night! As she can’t read, she obviously doesn’t know when the party will happen, so I reminded her at least 5 times that she had to take the card from her drawer at school and put it in her bag. She might still forget…

Here’s the layout with a word I cut with the Craft Robo, the word “Adore”, copied from a Heidi Swapp stamp (not by me, I’m not able to create cut files yet!). Besides that, I used paper and stickers from Rouge de Garance, letter stickers/chipboards from American Crafts and Gin-X and paint = the bubbles were scraplifted from a layout from Nathalie C. that was published in the magazine “Histoire de pages”.

I made a canvas for Richard with a picture of the kids that I know he loves (and that he took himself). I first painted the canvas and then made a layout on it with, again, My Minds Eye patterned paper, a flower and ribbon. I'm quite happy with the result, and so was he!

Turning 35 tomorrow, ouch! BUT, looking forward to the presents! Never too old for presents!!

I have been quite busy with scrap these last days (weeks), I love it! I'm currently on sick leave from work, which leaves me some time to scrap, besides taking care of the children and the house!

coup--96.jpg
I finally had some inspiration to scrap the encounter with Santa Claus (december 2006). PP still My Minds Eye (love these papers and use them for everything right now!)

coup--97.jpg
This one was made for a product challenge, we had to use a picture of someone older (my mother), patterned paperS from one manufacturer and hearts. These pictures were taken beginning of November and were perfect for the occasion!

coup--98.jpg

And finally a layout about my friend Nienke, also for a product challenge. This time we had to use pictures of a friend, use circles (could you guess??!!) and have hidden journaling, which is on the tag behind the round picture!
Thanks for looking and thank you for your comments!!

This week I have had time to get some more layouts done. The first I'll show is my personal all time favourite, picture of my kids on a roundabout that was decorated for the World cup (talking about rugby here!). I made this for a bonus Midweek challenge on Classy Scrappers, still for the "3 product challenge", we had to use white title letters, floral papers and one picture. PP My Minds Eye:

The next is a layout made for the 6th week of the challenge, use of chipboard shapes, bling and stamping. The pictures were taken last week on Halloween. BTW, the kids have collected LOADS of sweets, but strangely enough, they seem to have forgotten all about their treasure :-)

And the last one I can show right now is made for a bonus Weekend challenge, use of Cardstock only (no PP), a quote and staples. This layout shows my kids with two little friends in the forest. I am not at all satisfied about the title, but do like the rest ;-)

Thanks for stopping by, for leaving comments and have a good evening!

to update the blog! I have quite a lot of work to finish, because tonight, my 5 day weekend will start! Yay :-) We could all do with a good rest, because ever since wintertime started, our living alarmclock named Alban wakes us up veeeery early in the morning, if you can talk about morning at 5 am!

First I want to show the early birthday present my sister in law gave me:
bocal-004.jpg I'm just talking about the jar, the ribbons didn't come with it! I have 4 tiny jars for all this ribbon, so desperately needed a new, bigger one and this one looks soooo good! The clock you can just see next to it is also my b-day present from her, I will decorate this clock as soon as I find enough inspiration and ideas. Well, yes, lots of projects going on in my head :-)

I'm trying to do all challenges in a 13 week "3 product challenge" at classy coordinates, meaning that you have to use 3 given products in the layouts. Here are number 4 (use of squares, brads and journaling strips) coup--91.jpg
(PP and letters Basic Grey Pheobe collection)
and number 5 (use of starts, 3 photos and ink)
coup--92.jpg
(PP Paper Trunk (I love it!), CS Bazzill, journaling card 7Gypsies.)

I'd better get back to work now, if I want to pick up the kids from the "Centre de Loisirs" before closing time!
Thanks for stopping by!

Vendredi 26 octobre 2007

but here I am again. Nothing much happened these last days... work, school, busy Wednesday... But today is Friday, my day off :D I had a scrapbook class this morning, and it was great! I like trying out new things!! This morning we attacked our pictures with bleach and we made our backgrounds ourselves with paint. Really nice to do, but not easy! The results are not really what I thought they'd be, but after looking at them for a while I got used to them and I actually quite like them :D :
coup--89.jpg

Naomi with her little best friend, singing at her (Naomi's) birthday party! and

coup--90.jpg
Naomi and Alban on the camping in Eersel (Holland) this summer. It looks a lot sunnier then it actually was this summer ;-) I made a stupid mistake on this one, I put the title in Dutch and the journaling (text) in French ;-)

Since last blog post, I have made other layouts, which I'll show below:
coup--85-copie-1.jpg
for a challenge on Classy Scrappers, which I did not win ;-) I have forgotten which papers these are, but they are from a Classy Pak!

coup--86-copie-1.jpg
This page will eventually be the first page of Albans album, once I decide to put all Layouts in chronological order. PP Scenic Route Metropolis! Below is the page that will be the first page of Naomi's album, PP Scenic Route Laurel:

That's about all for today! Thanks for looking, and thanks for leaving a comment ;-)

Luckily for me, I don't have any reason to go outside, I'm sitting very comfortably on my couch with my computer on my lap in front of the tv showing  "Les Experts Miami" (CSTI Miami, I believe, in English). Let's just hope it stops raining before tomorrow morning, 'cause we have speech lessons, music school and sports to go to!

I have been scrapping quite a bit lately, for different challenges and for fun of course. I already told about this layout I made for a challenge at Scrapfreak, the challenge was to use white space (well, empty space, not necessarily white!) in the Layout and I decided to scrap the tulips that had been waiting in my "to print" file forever!
coup--82.jpg

In my previous post I have shown a layout that I scraplifted from a magazine, Esprit Scrapbooking. I have also made a layout based on a sketch from this magazine. Pp Fancy Pants:

And last but not least I have made a layout for the "3 products challenges" on Classycoordinates, I had to use metal embellishment(s), flower(s) and striped paper. I used Basic Grey paper:

That's it for today! I'm off on Thursday (but work on Friday), so I'm going into some kind of weekend right now. Feels good :-)
Thank you for visiting!

Samedi 6 octobre 2007
My work week finishes on Thursday night and I start my weekend with dance class, which is both fun and difficult (for me!) and therefore a great way to start the weekend!

Friday has been quite a productive day, in the morning I cleaned (...), after that I had to go to the dentist... Having al afternoon to myself, I made this layout, a scraplift from a layout I found in a french magazine (Esprit Scrapbooking) :

coup--81.jpg

I love this picture of Alban, taken in October 2004! He looks soooo cute :)

In the evening, I decided to make another layout, for a challenge on Scrapfreak, but I haven't had time to take a picture for now, so patience...

Today the weather is wonderful, so we'll probably go outside a bit. In the end of the afternoon and this evening, it will mostly about rugby in our house. Vive les bleus ;-) Have a nice weekend all!
